Stavanger Tennis Club is preparing to host two major ITF junior tournaments this year. With over 1,100 members, the club has long been a hub for tennis enthusiasts and has grown into a well-established venue for international competitions. The upcoming tournaments are set to draw young players from across Europe, with the club’s reputation for professionalism and hospitality leading the way.
“We warmly welcome all players, coaches, and parents to Stavanger,” says Ole Storhaug, the director of Stavanger Tennis Club. “We have excellent facilities here in Stavanger, with quick access from the airport, hotels close to the club, and a very service-oriented staff. Everything is prepared for a smooth and enjoyable tournament experience for all.”
Stavanger Tennis Club is no stranger to international events, as they normally host 4-5 tournaments each year. Earlier this year, the club successfully organized the G14 Winter Cup, setting a high bar for what’s to come. “Our staff is well-drilled in handling all aspects of such events,” Ole shares. “Additionally, our partner hotel, Clarion Energy, is well-versed in meeting the needs of tennis players.”
Having steadily grown over the past decade, Stavanger Tennis Club is reaching its maximum capacity in terms of courts. Plans are already in motion for an expansion in collaboration with the local municipality, aiming to add 12 new courts in the coming years. Since hosting its first international tournament back in 2008, the club has welcomed several well-known players, including Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Michael Ymer, Clara Tauson, and Hugo Gaston.
When asked what players can expect from the experience, Ole adds: “We hope all the players leave with a great impression of both the club and the city. We aim to be an organizer that goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels welcome.”
